Since founding Tumalo Public Affairs, Aaron Toso has helped manage public affairs issues and led strategic communications for complex issues related to immigration, energy, and land use.

Before Tumalo, Toso held multiple strategic and public facing roles at Amazon over more than five years. He oversaw communications for the company’s operations and logistics network across 14 East Coast states, built and led their global crisis communications team engaging in reputational management and training colleagues in Europe and Asia, served as a spokesperson for both national activations and issues at Seattle HQ, and worked on the largest economic development project in the country.

As a consultant he has led multi-state lobbying efforts throughout the country. Toso has also overseen external affairs and earned media efforts within Washington’s tech industry and managed issues for some of the state’s legacy industries, like timber and shellfish.

Growing up in a reservation town in South Dakota, he can authentically speak to rural and urban issues across the cultural and media landscape.

Toso served on Washington Governor Gregoire’s senior staff as her press secretary and on the executive management team for the Washington State Department of Natural Resources. He cut his teeth working on ballot initiatives where he served in spokesperson and/or communications director roles.
